James Ditchfield is one of the most creative, innovative and experienced television directors to emerge from the UK

Deciding to make his home in the US,  James has found himself, again heading a successful show such as ' Judge Faith'.

James has been involved in much of the most popular TV output for the UK as well as developing and producing formats for both UK and worldwide audiences.  

 

His obvious talents have been recognized and acknowledged by the industry. An Emmy Award for ‘Without Prejudice’, Royal Television Society award for 'The Weakest Link' and James was delighted to receive his own personal BAFTA nomination.

He undertook one of the biggest ever BBC television events - ‘2000 Today’.  From there, he moved on to series direct some of the UK’s largest, and most profitable, talk, quiz and reality shows including ‘Question Time’, ‘The Weakest Link’ and ‘Extreme Makeover UK’ along with other international formats, 'Trisha Goddard' and 'Robot Wars'.

 

During his extensive TV career James has also successfully directed major internationally-renowned talent including: Jerry Springer, Anne Robinson, Trisha Goddard and David Dimbleby.

 

James began his television career at the BBC, initially as a cameramen, where he trained in all aspects of television production.  As a BBC cameraman, James excelled at his craft and pioneered hand-held camera work.  This work drew praise and plaudits from renowned industry leaders, producers and directors.

 

James was promoted to the top of his profession in record time and was asked to develop and staff major new and established award-winning shows on the BBC.

His all round experience and knowledge allows him to work at speed with precise and innovative results.
